Walk it out (acute back pain)

When experiencing acute back pain it’s often difficult to know what to do. But most of the time the corny saying “movement is medicine” holds true.

Without an actual trauma moment, like a fall or collision, the likelihood of you damaging your back (or any part of your body) by moving is very low. Obviously, if you’re experiencing any neurological signs, like loss of strength or sensation in the limbs or groin area, contact your health care provider. But if it’s just pain, the sooner you start moving, the better.

Start by walking, go outside and try to stand-up tall.

Drop you belly and breath.

Now walk, and walk for a while.

It might take some time and it’s not a miracle drug, but it will get better.
